Hi, I am Alex.
I am painting icons, singing in a church, and studying to become a teacher.
I come from Georgia, have lived in Greece – Mount Athos and Athens – and currently reside in Malta.
On Mount Athos, I studied Byzantine Iconography and Music.
My Work

Painting
I began writing icons when I was 5. I earned a degree in iconography from Mount Athos, Greece, and have been working as a professional iconographer ever since.
Singing
I have been a church singer and composer since I was 10. This is my current profession. I serve in several languages, including Greek, English, Georgian, and Slavic.
Studing
I studied Classics and Philosophy in Athens and am currently pursuing studies in History and Education in Malta. Ideas and stories of human wisdom fill the pages of my writing.
Order Icons
People from Greece, Georgia and Malta have been comissioning icons.
Due to their symbolic nature and reduced emphasis on naturalism, Byzantine-style icons convey a greater sense of mysticism and “katanyxis”. As a result, people from various cultures are interested in commissioning icons from my workshop.
Online Lessons
As a teacher, I have been teaching Humanities, Ancient and Modern Greek, and Byzantine Music.
Many of my students are interested in learning Greek to study or live in Greece, while others simply admire Greek culture and want to deepen their understanding.
Byzantine Music, with its unique spiritual quality, attracts those who wish to explore the eastern church’s musical traditions.
